JLaw May Join Darren Aronofsky’s New Movie
The book of The Rosie Project is well worth seeking out.
Based on Graeme Simsion’s 2013 novel of the same, The Rosie Project tells the story of Don Tillman, a socially awkward genetics professor who struggles to find that special someone.
Just as word comes in that Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to headline Darren Aronofsky’s mystery indie project, THR is reporting the star has exited “The Rosie Project”.
In an interview with Fairfax, Film Victoria chief Jenni Tosi said there had been initial discussions with the film’s producer about locating The Rosie Project in Melbourne. Perhaps Aronofsky can direct Lawrence towards her second Academy Award. She left the movie on Monday, and The Hollywood Reporter now adds that director Linklater left on the same day too. The Boyhood director Richard Linklater followed suit.
That’s largely because, prior to this week’s devastating one-two punch, Tri-Star had planned to get the wheels in motion on The Rosie Project during the winter. Jennifer Lawrence is currently finishing up Passengers, but with her roles in the X-Men franchise, and The Hunger Games franchise now ended, the actress should have more available time on her hands in 2016 for the new film.
The film could still go ahead with Lawrence and Linklater at the helm, with Australian film The Dressmaker waiting more than a year for Kate Winslet to play the female lead.
