Joan Rivers Asked Huge Jackman to Perform In Her Funeral Long Ago
Huge Jackman was told by Joan Rivers to perform at her funeral, much ago before she passed away. The actor unveiled to Jimmy Fallon that the legendary comedian asked him to perform. Huge appeared on ‘The Tonight Show’ on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 and informed the audiences.
Joan’s request
The 45 years old actor said it was amazing to recall of the star-sudden service. The star of X-Men stated “I must admit: I’ve been to several funerals, and I’ve always kind of felt for the person who has to sing. I’ve always said, ‘Oh, how do you do that?”

The mother of Melissa Rivers wanted Huge Jackman to perform during her funeral almost 10 years ago after watching Huge in the Broadway musical. ‘The Boy from Oz’. The actor was asked to narrate in the show that what happened when Joan asked him to perform, Huge said “”She had planned everything out. She had seen me in a show called The Boy from Oz, which I did here on Broadway. And I sang a song from that. It was called ‘Quiet Please, There’s A Lady On Stage.’ It’s a beautiful celebration of a woman, and it was for her.”
The funeral
Huge Jackman explained that the entire crowd was cheering and applauding for his performance, while the entire show was uplifted and very touching. As per Hugh, “The entire audience in the synagogue got up and started clapping and cheering.” He also said of his performance, “The whole thing was very uplifting, very touching and moving, but funny.”
Howard Stern, the famous American radio personality, was also there on September 7, 2014, to eulogize Joan at her funeral. Stern said it was perhaps the most remarkable service he witnessed. As per Stern, “[It] was probably the most remarkable service I have ever witnessed.”
