The comic actress, aged 81 years, was admitted to the hospital as she stopped breathing. Her breathing stopped during a throat process at a local clinic, according to TMZ. The emergency personnel got a 911 call from a person stating that there was someone “in either cardiac or respiratory arrest”.

A representative from Mount Sinai, Sid Dinsay reported to the US Weekly that Joan has been admitted and was kept under observation. The daughter, Melissa Rivers, rushed to New York to stay along with her mother during such critical moment.

The 81 years old actress was spotted having dinner at Amaranth Restaurant a day before when she was absolutely fine, a source said. Moreover, she was in a joyful mood and was cracking jokes all the night, after her performance at Beechman Theatre. As per the source, “She was cracking jokes all night. She was in really good spirits.”
