Joan Rivers’ Last Wish Fulfilled With a Red Carpet Funeral
Joan Rivers passed away at 81. She had got her wish fulfilled to have a red carpet funeral. The late comedian did get a red carpet funeral.
The legendary comedian and host of “E!Fashion Police”, Joan Rivers’ red carpet funeral was held in NYC on September 7, Sunday. Joan Rivers’ funeral service was held in Temple Emanu-El in NYC. The temple is located in Manhattan on its Upper East Side.
Hollywood had paid tribute to the great and legendary comedian. A-listers like Mario Cantone, Kelly Osbourne, Howard Stern, Giuliana and Bill Rancic, Kathy Griffin, Kristin Chenoweth, Sally Jesse Raphael, Rosie O’Donnell, Hota Kotb, Chuck Scarborough, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford, Andy Cohen, Jeff Ross, Sarah Jessica Parker, Donald Trump Jr., Donald and Melania Trump, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Alicia Quarles, Geraldo Rivera, Rachael Ray, Barbara Walters, Dr. Oz., and Billy Bush attended the funeral.
No doubt, the industry has been left in a shock with the demise of the star. It’s been a huge loss for the world to lose such a talented person.
The beloved comedian stopped breathing while she was in an outpatient procedure on her vocal cords. She was quickly rushed to the Mount Sinai Hospital and had been hospitalized since August 28. The daughter of the late host, Melissa Rivers, confirmed that she passed away at the age of 81.

Rivers’ plans for her own funeral had finally worked out. She always wished to have a red carpet funeral as she was always a star and wanted to remain a star forever. She wrote about her wish, “When I die (and yes, Melissa, that day will come; and yes, Melissa, everything’s in your name,) I want my funeral to be a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action,” in her book “I Hate Everyone…Starting with Me.”
