Joe Biden’s associates resume discussion about presidential run
The New York Times reported Saturday that the Vice President and his associates have been holding meetings at his Washington home to discuss just that.
Vice President Joe Biden has yet to rule out a 2016 presidential campaign and is likely to wait beyond August to decide, several Democrats say, allowing him to watch as the contest unfolds before determining whether he could make a viable late entry into the race.

The president and vice-president embraced, after Obama said he considered himself and his family to have become honorary members of “the Biden clan”.
“He was so close to Beau and it was so heartbreaking that, frankly, I thought initially he wouldn’t have the heart”, Boston lawyer Michael Thornton, a Biden supporter, was quoted by the report as saying. “But I have had indications that maybe he does want to – and [perhaps Biden believes] that is what Beau would’ve wanted”. “I’ve learned that in the last week that Joe Biden’s chief of staff, Steve Ricchetti, had a breakfast with Lou Susman, who is a big Democratic money man”.
For example, they say advisers have begun to reach out to prominent Democratic supporters who have not yet committed to Hillary Clinton, The New York Times reported Saturday.
While Biden has done little to lay the groundwork for a possible challenge to Hillary Clinton and the rest of the Democratic field, CNN has learned that a group of his friends and advisers are still urging him to keep the door open.
What would make the competition even more challenging is that Biden had previously shared his respect for the Party’s wish to put a woman in the White House and that he is on good terms with Clinton.
“As the Biden family continues to go through this hard time, the vice president is focused on his family and immersed in his work”, Barkoff said.

Fox News reported that the encounter stirred unease in the Clinton campaign at the prospect Biden was taking a campaign more seriously. The various controversies swirling around Mrs. Clinton present a serious threat to the former secretary of state’s chances, and of all announced or potential Democratic candidates, the vice president is best equipped to pick up the pieces.
