Joe Biden’s Son Hunter Denies Having Ashley Madison Account: Someone Stole My
“I am certain that the account in question is not mine”, Hunter said in a statement to multiple news outlets.
The married father of three said he learned about the account from media reports, and added that he stopped using the email address in question after it was compromised in the past.
News of the account registered to an email address belonging to Biden was first reported Monday by Breitbart News and comes as the vice president is weighing a 2016 White House bid. Without listing any specific incidents, he also said this was not the first time he has heard of someone using his identity for what he assumed was an attack on his reputation.
Charles Dharapak/AP Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has denied having an Ashley Madison profile Tuesday after an account on the cheating website was reportedly linked to him. Though the account is registered in the name of “Robert Biden” and lists the correct birth day and month, February 4, the birth year is 10 years off – 1980 instead of the actual 1970. Below, via Breitbart, is a screenshot of the account’s information that, among other things, reveals that the purported Biden was seeking relationships where “Anything goes”.
But the appearance of a given email address or account name in the database is not a smoking gun, experts say.
“From my understanding through press accounts, it is very easy to set up an account without someone’s knowledge as there is no requirement that an email address be verified”, Hunter explains.
“I am certain that is what happened in this case”, Biden said.
Joe Biden’s eldest son Beau passed away in May 2015 after losing his battle with brain cancer.
