Joe Hart: Out against Southampton
Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph has said that it was important that the side bounced back from last week’s loss to Liverpool at the Etihad, after they beat Southampton 3-1 today.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that goalkeeper Joe Hart will miss multiple games with the “muscle injury” he sustained against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Long reduced the arrears with a header from a Sadio Mane’s cross early in the second half, but Kolarov restored City’s two-goal cushion by lashing in from De Bruyne’s dinked cross in the 70th minute. “We had won just one point from the last six in the Premier League so it was very important to win here against a hard team that was unbeaten away. I hope Vardy continues these very good performances”. We train really well and I wish him a quick recovery.
“It was important to have a strong reaction in front of our fans here at home”, he continued. If you want to be involved in title, you can not drop more points at home after we already dropped points against West Ham and Liverpool. They’re both very quick, technically gifted players, with enough skill in their lockers to terrorize the City fullbacks – particularly on the counter attack. It is a nice opportunity for me to play a couple of games consecutively.
It remains to be seen whether the Manchester City boss decides to risk Aguero for their League Cup quarter-final against Hull City this Tuesday night.
“It is not a crisis”. Southampton are having a good season.
The goal was a key moment in the game.
The biggest cheer of the night came in the 74th minute, as David Silva made a return to action, replacing Sterling.
“He has a pain in his heel”.
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy made history on Saturday by scoring for the 11th Premier League match running in his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United.
Koeman saw improvement after the interval but admitted his side played into the opposition’s hands and were punished for their lacklustre start. Ross Barkley’s goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time restored the lead for Everton, which was 2-0 ahead after 36 minutes.
Sergio Aguero is the top-scoring South American player in Premier League history (85 goals).
Saints continued to pile the pressure in the second half but any momentum Southampton was enjoying was cruelly stamped out by their opponents as Aleksandar Kolarov expertly volleyed a low shot into the bottom left of Stekelenburg’s net on 69 minutes.
