Joe Manganiello reveals how he proposed to Sofia Vergara : Woman’s Day NZ

Manganiello told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that he made a decision to get down on one knee and deliver his speech in Vergara’s native language – Spanish. “The last thing you want to do is like mess up the Spanish on the proposal to the Colombian woman”.

The “Magic Mike XXL” star said part of his speech included the phrase “Eres mi todo” – which means “yоu are my everything” in English.

Concerning the expected result, he says he was really confident Sofia would say yes.

The romantic proposal happened while the pair were enjoying a holiday in Hawaii.

Manganiello said the proposal itself was a complete surprise for the “Modern Family” actress and that his “Magic Mike” co-stars helped him prepare. “Like Kevin (Nash) gave me the recommendation of who to do to for the ring”.

Of course we’re all used to seeing Sofia in full bombshell mode: tight dress, big hair, and a full face of make-up.

Um, if this is the LESS enhanced version, we can only imagine what the real one would have looked like… “It was my bicep”. Despite his injury, Manganiello insisted on filming the remainder of the scene and Vergara was not so happy about his decision.

The couple have also set a date, with Sofia revealing to Ryan Seacrest: “Yeah, we have a date, it was kind of hard because we’re both working, and you never know what’s going to come in our work”. Before heading across the border, the 42-year-old posted a makeup-free picture on Instragram and she looks fantastic. Since she’s treating herself to “a small sun”, I sure hope she is slathered in sunscreen to keep that wonderful face looking so young.
