Joe Thomas Is Also Frustrated With The Browns’ Offensive Line
The Steelers had eight sacks Sunday in a 24-9 win over the Browns and it wasn’t necessarily the scheme, it was largely guys beating the man across from them one-on-one.
He held a formal press conference at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ headquarters prior to the 2014 season to say he was retiring, taking a few shots at his long-time nemesis, commissioner Roger Goodell, on his way out of the door.
Even if Kessler can come back sooner rather than later, there is no point in playing the rest of the season. “He works extremely hard on a daily basis”.
Le’Veon Bell – Anyone who knows anything knows just how good Bell is, but what he did against the Cleveland Browns was noteworthy.
It was a much-needed win that ended a four game skid but there is not much time to enjoy this one because they have to get ready to play the Indianapolis Colts on Thanksgiving night on Thursday.
Rookie quarterback Cody Kessler has started eight games this season, including the past three, but he’ll be sidelined Sunday because he’s in the NFL’s concussion protocol for the second time in four weeks. Browns coach Hue Jackson on yet another deflating loss. Robert Griffin III, Cody Kessler and Josh McCown have all gotten hurt behind Cleveland’s offensive line, even when facing teams that aren’t great at rushing the passer. Again, I just think all of our players are frustrated. “Especially for guys who have been in the league for a little while and in our locker room, it is frustrating”. I feel like the first drive went well. We have to get it right, fix it and turn it over and get it to looking the way we want it to look.
Some of the frustration is beginning to boil over.
If that wasn’t bad enough in seeing your team blow through draft picks, multiple front office personnel, coaches and 20-plus quarterbacks, then how much further will Cleveland have to go before they truly hit rock bottom.
Wilson became the first quarterback in franchise history to catch a touchdown, a ideal end-around pass from Baldwin to Seattle’s athletic QB as he ran down the left sideline and dove into the end zone to give the Seahawks (6-2-1) a 23-7 lead.
Pryor didn’t name names, but there was no hiding his anger.
Browns left tackle Joe Thomas could have probably been part of the exodus, if he really wanted to be.
Jackson said he spoke with Pryor about his comments, and according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot, said Pryor “was awesome”.
“This is bullcrap. We can’t keep doing this and we can’t keep getting our guys hit”. Their first two possessions drained more than 9 minutes off the clock, and they came away with their only offensive touchdown on a two-minute drill that featured back-to-back plays on untimed downs.
“We knew with the weather we had today that he was going to have to be big for us”, said Roethlisberger, who improved to 20-2 in starts against Cleveland, still paying for not drafting the OH native in 2004. The Steelers need Bell healthy if they want to have any chance of winning the division, and running him into the ground against the Browns is one sure way to make him more injury-prone. Let’s focus on ourselves and support each other. “I have total confidence that we are going to do that as an organization”. Pryor was the only consistent threat, with 97 yards on five catches. I understand it’s coming from a good place. I felt the same way, but I don’t think Browns supporters thought it would actually be this bad.
As for Jackson, it appears he hasn’t lost the confidence of his players, who remain supportive despite a season testing everyone’s patience and stomachs.
McCown said getting the full week of practice as the starter will be beneficial to him. He didn’t throw a touchdown pass for only the second time this season, but he didn’t throw an interception either and got the Steelers out to a lead they never relinquished.
