John Boehner Calls Ted Cruz ‘Jackass’ at Colorado Fundraiser
“I don’t think it’s terribly speaker-like, and I think it kind of goes against everything that [former President Ronald] Reagan ever said about disparaging Republicans”, said Ed MacArthur, the president of Native Excavating, to the news outlet.
Speaker John Boehner shocked attendees of a Colorado fundraiser Wednesday night by referring to Sen. The Steamboat Springs event was hosted for Representative Scott Tipton.
But MacArthur added: “I do believe he’s got the right to say it”.
Scott Walker called the remarks “just wrong”.
According to the Daily Caller, at least 100 people attended the fundraiser.
Cruz has been a thorn in Boehner’s side since he joined the Senate.
In addition to Governor Walker, Governor Huckabee also defended Ted Cruz, warning that Boehner’s remark was a “huge mistake”.
