John Boyega and Dakota Johnson among Bafta Rising Star Award nominees
Speaking about her nomination, Dakota said: ‘I am thoroughly stunned, and honoured to be acknowledged with an EE Rising Star Award nomination.
The other nominees are Fifty Shades Of Grey actress Dakota Johnson, Brie Larson – who’s also in the running for a Golden Globe this weekend for a Best Actress gong for Room – and Bel Powley for The Diary of a Teenage Call Girl.
The London-born 23-year-old has already risen very far, very fast, having found global fame as a rebellious Stormtrooper in the new Star Wars adventure.
Taron, who recently starred opposite Colin Firth in Kingsman: The Secret Service, has been nominated for the EE Rising Star Award that is presented at the ceremony. He has also been tapped to don the iconic green hood in Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins project with Peaky Blinders’ Otto Bathurst directing.
He is working on a new film, The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Watson. He first started out on screen in the critically acclaimed BBC series, Becoming Human and his first feature film was playing the lead in cult sci-fi film, Attack the Block.
She had parts in The Social Network, the 21 Jump Street remake and Fox sitcom Ben and Kate before landing her most high-profile role, as Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades trilogy.
She also starred opposite Johnny Depp in the Whitey Bulger Biopic, Black Mass.

Previous recipients include James McAvoy, Tom Hardy, and Kristen Stewart.
The nominees for the Rising Star Award were chosen by a panel that included Broadchurch’s Olivia Colman and TV personality Jonathan Ross. The victor is announced at the star-studded ceremony on February 14.
