John Harbaugh Calls Hue Jackson A ‘Great Hire’ For Browns

Since he is a very well liked coach, many are hoping that Hue Jackson will indeed finally be the coach that the Cleveland Browns are searching for.

The 50-year-old Jackson will become the struggling franchise’s eighth coach since 1999 once the sides have finalized his deal, the person told The AP on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the hiring.

Hue Jackson was hired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.

Cincinnati’s former offensive coordinator backed out of a scheduled interview with the New York Giants, a pillar of stability, to join the Browns – after some discussion about Johnny Manziel.

But before Jackson had a chance to speak with another team, Haslam, who skipped the owner’s meetings in Houston to focus on finding his coach, decided during a meeting with him in Cincinnati on Tuesday that he was done talking to candidates.

“This is our man, ” Haslam told them.

When Jackson was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2011, he ranked Kaepernick as the best quarterback in the draft, which included No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers.

Cleveland reportedly will jettison Johnny “football” Manziel and according to reports this was a stipulation from Jackson in taking the job. He tutored Andy Dalton and led the offense to an AFC North title this season. The next season he was arrested and suspended for assault, and controversially was allowed to return, ultimately helping Nebraska win its second straight title.

While the 8-8 record also tied for the club’s most wins since the 2002 squad lost Super Bowl XXXVII, Jackson was still fired. Owner Al Davis died that year and son Mark Davis took over and hired Reggie McKenzie as general manager. He added that the Browns “finally have a coach who at least is equipped to be the right one”.

Yes, other team’s were interested, but no one knows how the dominoes would’ve fallen had Jackson rejected Cleveland.

If Hue Jackson can finally make a victor out of the Cleveland Browns, then he will be considered a legend.
