John Kasich: Balancing budget will take time
Rick Perry left the race September 11 and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker quit September 21. When Kasich first began exploring a presidential campaign, he focused much of his effort on winning approval for a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.
“Unfortunately, his attempts fell on deaf ears because from Day One, his speakership has been hobbled by a deeply divided Republican Party and an extremist group of tea party members who are determined to prevent the government from operating”, Ryan said.
“When we build a bridge in South Carolina with federal money, it needs to reflect the minority community”, he said.
Kasich’s home state of Ohio is a pivotal swing state in presidential elections. We all want to see less poverty and more opportunity. “Whatever he’s got in New Hampshire could melt on him”.
He spoke about how he would make things better in Washington.
Yet others have warned Kasich that competing in Iowa is a foolish strategy, pointing out social conservatives such as Santorum and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee won the caucuses in 2012 and 2008 and yet quickly faded in the race for the presidency. “He led the U.S. House through one of the most politically polarizing and tumultuous periods in recent American history”. John Kasich has stated he’s ready to re-engage in the Middle East for “as long as it takes to get the job done” to defeat ISIL or whomever the fog of war says the enemy is today. Kasich has focused his efforts on Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Hilton Head hoping to ignite a response among the scores of retired people from the Midwest.
The NBC/WSJ poll was conducted September 20-24 of 256 Democratic voters (which has a margin of error of plus-minus 6.1 percentage points) and 230 GOP primary voters (plus-minus 6.5 percentage points).
“When they commit to one political party, they don’t have any leverage”, Kasich said during a 30-minute, question-and-answer session sponsored by the Greater Charleston Business Alliance and the South Carolina African American Chamber of Commerce.
