John Obi Mikel: Chelsea atmosphere has improved since Mourinho exit
Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel, says Chelsea was not in the right place to attack in Monday night’s game against Manchester United and so had to settle for a draw. For whatever reason we weren’t winning games from the start and we are where we are and we have to build upon that and we have to change things around very quickly because, looking at the league table, it’s frightful.
Chelsea are yet to lose a game since Hiddink took charge of the club, drawing 2-2 with Watford last weekend and playing a 0-0 stalemate at Old Trafford yesterday; the 3-1 win over Sunderland on 19th December was overseen by assistant manager Steve Holland.
“We’ve moved on from that and the atmosphere has improved since the change of manager. We will see what happens when he gets back”, Mendes said.
Meanwhile, John Terry is convinced Chelsea’s recovery from a nightmare start that cost manager Jose Mourinho his job is finally clicking into gear.
“There were a few chances for them and the same for us as well, but when you look back at the game a draw was a fair result”. Is it the right decision? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Portuguese was sacked earlier this month with the club sitting just a point above the dressing room and because of a “palpable discord” between the manager and his players, so said technical director Michael Emenalo.
“I didn’t see the tackle, but from what I’ve heard it was a bit high”, Mikel said. It’s hard when you’re not playing, as you don’t really know what the problems are.
“I am pleased we had two open options in the second half with Nemanja Matic shooting”. “We’ve got a lot of games left to play and points to catch up”.
