John Ruddy confident of Norwich City survival
Norwich adopted a more pragmatic approach in their last home match with Swansea, a game they won 1-0, but Neil says they will need to change their style of play again to combat the threat of Arsenal, claiming he is trying to make his team as versatile as possible.
“On the day everything went against us”.
Arsenal will want to put points on the board. I think we have a chance but it is very early. “It is a long time, I might not be alive, never mind managing”, the Scot said.
“It is so tight and I don’t even look at the league any more because it is very, very tight”, he said. It’s the way his teams play.
Heaven forbid they should get the 11.30 Aviva trains service from London Liverpool Street to Norwich with the common people.
The Gunners have the joint best away scoring record in the division and only three clubs have conceded more goals than Norwich so far so Neil has good reason to be anxious. “It is a tough task for us but one I am looking forward to and so are the players”.
Meanwhile, Wenger hinted Aaron Ramsey will continue in an unfavoured right-wing role despite Francis Coquelin’s injury. Theo Walcott (calf), Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rocisky (both knee) and Jack Wilshere (leg) all remain out.
Sanchez has suffered a couple of injury scares this season, and is now nursing a minor hamstring problem.
Wenger knows Norwich will raise their game at Carrow Road tomorrow and Redmond could be a potential dangerman. Kyle Lafferty, who scored for the Under-21 side this week, is also expected to be fit.
Vardy, likewise, has experienced a fabulous last 18 months in the Premier League, and his rise to prominence has prompted England boss Roy Hodgson to draft him into the worldwide scene.
“Teams have got themselves into a method of counter-attacking on a regular basis and so stick to their principles, regardless of who they are playing against”.
Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy is confident of survival: “All the ingredients are there”.
