John Scott approached about movie about his career
As it was, John said he wasn’t trying to get her too worked up during the game. “I can’t even believe this it’s happening”.
The two goals? The standing ovations and 17,134 chanting his name?
The NHL was reportedly behind the move, and league officials also put pressure on Scott to turn down the All-Star Game invite, but he vowed to play.
The Canadiens immediately demoted him to their minor-league team in New Foundland, the St. John’s IceCaps. Except, it actually happened.
John Scott’s All-Star performance was one to remember. “I was just kind of fed up with it…”
The game was a lot of fun to watch even without the high scoring in the final game.
If the National Hockey League listens to the feedback from players, they won’t overhaul the All-Star process again.
But fans flooded Twitter with #VoteMVPScott and so there he was after the game, being handed a trophy, a Honda Pilot Touring SUV, and an oversized million-dollar check (to split among his teammates) after scoring two goals. If not, I can always go to work. He also posed with teammates behind their $1 million check.
The money, of course, was not nothing. John Scott will more than likely fade into the background in the AHL for the remainder of the season. And when John Scott leaves Nashville, it will be to head back to Newfoundland and the AHL, and soon to welcome twin newborns.
The first came with Scott coming through the left faceoff circle, knocking the puck home.
“I couldn’t be happier to be named to the All-Star Game, especially here in Nashville”, Neal said. Burns, who has won an Olympic gold medal and previous All-Star appearances, admitted he was nervous.
The Scott story ended in a fashion that would be rejected by any Hollywood screen writer, as he won the fans’ write-in vote for Most Valuable Player decisively despite not being listed on the original ballot on the scoreboard.
The trio combined for the first goal of the game for the Pacific and it sparked quite the celebration from Scott who made sure to enjoy every second of his experience in Nashville. The league wanted to pretend guys like him didn’t exist, that they were an embarrassment that needed to be done away with.
“I jumped up when he scored his second goal, holding my two kids”, Danielle said. “I think it’s the best possible outcome right?” It’s all of the stuff he’s had to take to get to this point. These games are not about who wins and loses, these games are about the people. “I’m just overjoyed for John and our family”.
Scott’s likeable, straight-shooting personality came out in many ways, including a rebuke for NBC analyst and former NHLer Jeremy Roenick, who interviewed him on the bench during the semifinal game, apologizing for being wrong to say Scott shouldn’t have participated.
The move was seen by some, including Scott, as the NHL’s attempt to keep him from playing in the game. “It’s unbelievable”, Scott said.
“He’s probably on cloud 1,000”, Subban said of Scott.
“I’m not going to exert my wife that much”.
“They’re obviously gracious fans, and they’re very passionate so it was real fun”, Trotz said.
