John Stamos Faces 6 Months In Jail From DUI Charge
The 52-year-old Stamos, a Los Angeles resident, was facing one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said in a news release.
He reportedly had taken GHB, the so-called date rape drug. He is set to be arraigned on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, it said.
On Thursday, the El Lay County D.A. charged the Grandfathered star, who could serve up to six months in jail.
An ongoing investigation was being conducted by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
On June 12, the “Full House” actor was driving alone in Beverly Hills when people told the police Stamos was acting strangely and driving erratically.
He was taken to a local hospital after authorities cited him for driving under the influence and decided he needed medical attention.
Stamos admitted in a Details magazine interview that his behavior got a bit out of control, but he felt back on the right track.
The handsome Fuller House actor told Lauer that adding that he’d been struggling since his mother, Loretta Phillips Stamos, died previous year, as “she was the love of my life”.
