John Stamos Has Shot Two Episodes of ‘Fuller House’
“It was very hard to get the shot”, he continued.
“I hear there’s an off-Broadway musical that National Lampoon is doing”.
So how does the soon-to-be 52-year-old actor feel about being cast as a grandfather while still looking like, well, John Stamos?
Both of the twins eventually left acting, however, and are the only original Full House cast members not signed-on to return in Netflix’s upcoming reboot series, Fuller House.
“What do you think of f- you”, Stamos said Thursday during his show’s Television Critics Association panel. So I [gesturing], ‘Get them out…!’ That is actually 100 percent accurate.
Stamos exec produces and stars as Jimmy, a version of himself on Grandfathered: a longtime bachelor whose life is upended after he learns he’s a father and grandfather.
His co-stars embrace Josh Peck as his grown son, together with Paget Brewster, who performs the mom of Stamos’ son, conceived throughout a long-ago one-night-stand.
“This is the show I’ve been waiting for for 10 years”, Stamos said, recalling a meeting with his agent who encouraged him to just do what he does best.
And at least one element of the Lifetime movie, hinted at in its trailer, is true: Stamos did indeed try to fire Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, who played Michelle Tanner on Full House. He added that his character is, “like a George Clooney before he turned against everything he believed in” and getting married.
The actor has been very vocal about how much he wants the Olsen twins to join Fuller House, but that wasn’t always the case during the Full House days. Lifetime’s “Unauthorized Full House Story” contains a scene depicting Stamos (played by Justin Gaston) complaining about how the young Olsen twins can’t crying.
“‘He said, ‘Why don’t you do what you do?,'” detailed the actor.
Stamos revealed that his secret is to whisper into the kids’ ears, “I made a couple of twins a lot of money”.
