Johnny Depp does not want an Oscar
“I don’t want to win one of those things ever, you know”.
Johnny Depp has been nominated for three Best Actor Academy Awards, for Sweeney Todd, Finding Neverland, and for the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
He stepped out during the BFI London Film Festival at Odeon’s Leicester Square with wife Amber Heard on Sunday and beamed with happiness, giving everyone a look at his mouth bling. “A nomination is plenty”. Johnny understood that Whitey Bulger is not a likable character for the most part; there’s a very vicious side to him, which you’ve never seen before from Johnny. “Joel Harlow, who did the makeup for the film and whom I’ve worked with for years, did an incredible job”.
Black Mass recreates accurately the Boston of the 70s with CGI-corrected aerial views and opaque, grainy cinematography; however it’s Depp’s transformation the film’s most impressive feature: with grey hair and chilling blue eyes achieved through hand-painted contacts. “I don’t want to have to talk (give a speech)…”
Another added: “Johnny Depp is kinda gross and creepy now”. “I wasn’t interested in asking him about his crimes or anything like that, I just wanted a few personal idiosyncrasies. Sometimes people don’t like it but that’s alright”. Benedict is one of the most talented actors out there, without question. There’s also a powerful suggestion that Jimmy’s ruthlessness and viciousness was exacerbated by bad personal tragedy and his divorce from his wife Lindsey, who’s strongly played by 50 Shades Of Grey’s Dakota Johnson and proves to be one of the only significant female voices in what is an amazingly blokey movie, with Kevin Bacon, Peter Sarsgaard, Corey Stoll and others turning up to spray testosterone.
