Johnny Football Signs ‘Money Manziel’ On $100 Bill

Manziel has found himself in negative situations seemingly every week since the Browns drafted him, so for him to hold himself accountable for a change and recognize his mistake was one of the numerous encouraging takeaways from Sunday. As someone who is just a fan-with-a-web-site and never played the game, my jaw often drops at the complexity and speed of professional football. The longest run of the day, the 54 yarder, was behind Pasztor.

Even Blake Bortles, who’s sixth in passing yards and third in passing touchdowns this season, had a rough start, going 1-4 in his first five starts with a 63% completion rate, four touchdowns, and 10 interceptions last season. The 49ers were only able to run for 71 yards on 17 carries and 2 of those runs were for 26 yards, including a scramble from embattled quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

Manziel received support from a running game that has underachieved for the vast majority of this season. They’re making assumptions about what each player is supposed to do, and those assumptions are often just plain wrong.

Was it a case of the Browns finally finding a stride on offense, or was the 49ers defense that bad?
