Johnny Manziel: Police ‘actively working’ on Manziel’s case

Police were called to investigate an incident involving Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel in Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend.

This isn’t the first time police have gotten involved after an incident between Manziel and his girlfriend, Colleen Elizabeth Crowley. An ambulance was called, but she was not taken to a hospital.

Fort Worth police tried calling Manziel’s cell phones and searching for him with help from the “Air One Unit” helicopter when the ex-girlfriend told officers she was concerned for his well-being.

A preliminary investigation revealed a possible assault had occurred in Dallas, but the ex-girlfriend did not cooperate with the officers, who could find no evidence of a crime in Fort Worth, police said. Police later determined that Manziel was safe and not in danger.

The first witness who called 911 said Manziel sped down the left shoulder of Interstate 90 west at an estimated 90 miles per hour and cut over several lanes before exiting at Nagel Road, according to the police report. All this was before yet another report about Johnny Manziel seemingly being involved in all the wrong things off the field.

The Browns had no immediate comment Saturday.
