Johnny Manziel’s ex-girlfriend tells police he struck her
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will not face charges related to accusations that he repeatedly assaulted a woman in Texas, police said Thursday.
Dallas police, who had been alerted to the incident by Fort Worth police about the possible assault in their jurisdiction, said in an email that they remain in the preliminary stages of their investigation and had no further information to release. In the report, Crowley said that on the drive back to her place in Fort Worth, Manziel struck her several more times. Crowley told police she tried to leave the room, but that Manziel wouldn’t let her. Crowley told police Manziel “restrained” in some manner and “led” her down a back stairway to the valet area. “He hit me with his open hand on my left ear for jumping out of the vehicle”.
According to the report, Crowley and Manziel had met up early in the evening of January 30 at a hotel in Dallas along with a group of friends.
Johnny Manziel’s National Football League career could be on even thinner ice in the wake of ugly details that surfaced Thursday in his ex-girlfriend’s latest allegations of domestic violence.
ESPN confirmed Manziel’s new case saying there is already a police report on the alleged incidents. He never showed up to concussion protocol before the last game of the season, could not be contacted, and reports said he was seen in Las Vegas that very weekend. At that point, Manziel fled the scene.
Manziel told TMZ Sports that he did not hit Crowley.
The affidavit, according to WFAA, says that Crowley thought Manziel might be on drugs or even having a psychotic breakdown. “I’m 100% committed to playing football”, Manziel, who was known as “Johnny Football” during his amateur days, said to TMZ.
“I take full responsibility for my actions, and it’s my intention to work very hard to regain everyone’s trust and respect”, Manziel said after getting out of rehab.
Irvin said in an interview Thursday on The Rich Eisen Show that Dallas owner Jerry Jones should consider trying to obtain Manziel. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules.Manziel has been a major disappointment and distraction during two turbulent seasons with Cleveland.
A Dallas Police helicopter was reportedly employed to find Manziel after the incident.
The Browns indicated Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, that theyve finally had enough of Manziels bad-boy behavior and intend to release the quarterback in March when the league begins its next calendar year.
Johnny Manziel spent 10 weeks of last offseason in a facility that specializes in addiction treatment.
Social media has turned on Manziel, which seems long overdue. Manziel denied that, was never charged, and Crowley put out a statement on her Instagram account saying it was just an argument and “we are all good”.
