According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Jolie has asked for physical custody of the couple’s shared six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox – and is requesting that Pitt be granted visitation rights.
Jolie is being represented by divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who helped in her divorce from Billy Bob Thornton and has represented Johnny Depp in his divorce from Amber Heard.

Jolie Pitt earlier this year finished shooting her fourth feature as director, “First They Killed My Father”.
The most sizable and immediate project upcoming is the Robert Zemeckis World War II romantic thriller “Allied” (opening November 23), starring Pitt and Marion Cotillard. The film, about the horrors of the Khmer Rouge, is based on Loung Ung’s memoir of living under the Cambodian regime in the 1970s. Aniston also got their Beverly Hills mansion out of the deal, but Pitt was able to retain control of his Plan B production company.
