Jon Bon Jovi to Vancouver Fans: The Show Is Back On
Bon Jovi fans who were livin’ on a prayer that his cancelled Stanley Park show would somehow be revived had their wish fulfilled Thursday.
The claims directly contradict the story out of Bon Jovi’s camp in an increasingly bitter back-and-forth battle of words. Paper Rain had perpetuated “confusion and misinformation” and had failed to failed to procure stage materials or pay for lighting and security, Korzilius said.
The town of Vancouver stated in a press release that it had offered preliminary help for the occasion however the organizers didn’t have the required metropolis permits.
The promoter says it still hopes a future date can be confirmed.
The show is open to all fans that purchased tickets to first concert.
The multiple award-winning band and the Kings of Suburbia were to play this Saturday.
“We Don’t Run”, which Jon Bon Jovi wrote with John Shanks as a new song and a sign of the band’s new direction, is awkwardly aggressive and uncharacteristically angry.
“The reality is that not enough tickets were sold to cover the cost of the artist and band’s fee, much less the other substantial costs involved”, the company said. “And the Parks Board did everything they could to make that happen, but it just didn’t”.
With only a day and a half to scramble, Bon Jovi called Korzilius to see if the show could be saved.
“If [the parks board] isn’t happy or satisfied, then we know there isn’t going to be a show”.
“Jon Bon Jovi takes care of his fans”.
But promoter Paper Rain Performances has announced the concert will not go on. The task of relocating could not have been possible without Rogers Arena’s support.
Vancouver is a special city for the artist, who recorded three albums in the City of Glass, he added. “As we said on Monday, Jon has always been willing, able and excited to perform on Saturday – now it’s real”.
