Jon Stewart brings Donald Trump mimic to ‘The Late Show’
Colbert puts a Trump wig on Stewart and colors his face with red stuff found in a bag of Cheetos.
Obviously, that meant “bringing the Trump” – with a ugly hairpiece and a facial coating of magic Cheeto dust.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) promised that a health care bill covering 9/11 first responders would be renewed in the wake of being criticized by former Daily Show host Jon Stewart, Politico reported.
Colbert then gave Stewart the floor to do his pitch before quickly interrupting him for being too boring.
Behind the comic transformation, was a serious message: Stewart has been lobbying Congress to pass a bill for 9/11 first responders.
After a little encouragement, Stewart went full Trump, insisting that viewers tweet their congressmen with the hashtag #WorstResponders.
While support for such legislation may seem like a bipartisan slam dunk, Congress has yet to renew the bill after letting it expire on October 1. Tell them Donald said “pull up your big boy trousers and make America Great again”.
Make sure you watch all the way to the end, where the pair basically can’t stop laughing at each other/read cue cards.
Thursday’s appearance was the second time this week Jon Stewart returned to late-night television to push Congress to approve more funding to treat people sickened by working in the rubble of the World Trade Center following the September 11 attacks.
Stewart was a guest on “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” on Monday night.
Before Stewart signed off from “The Daily Show” in August, the satirical news host was known for skewering Trump – going as far to call him the “candidate version of the hot dog crust pizza”.
