Jon Stewart Is Back!…With The WWE
The New Day got a special intro by way of Stewart, making his triumphant babyface turn after costing John Cena a match at last year’s SummerSlam. Later, Jon Stewart would head to the ring to introduce the tag team champions, The New Day, by putting on his ridiculous looking headgear souvenir and declaring himself an official New Day member and Unicorn (nickname for a New Day fan).
The funnyman and WWE superfan just couldn’t stay away, could he? Apparently, he was still embarrassed over his “old man belly” (Jon Stewart’s term for his stomach) being exposed to the entire WWE Universe. Make that happen, ok WWE?
That only served to fire up Kingston and Woods, which prompted them to demand a match against Gallows and Anderson at SummerSlam and accept the added stipulation that the tag titles would be on the line. The distraction worked but Luke and Karl were about to crotch Jon on the ringpost. The pair were about to give Jon Stewart, who was a special guest at the match (but not technically participating) a case of Ringpostitis, which they had done to Big E weeks earlier to take him out of contention for their Tag Team Title bout.
