Jon Stewart’s Last Night on ‘The Daily Show’: What to Expect
Obama is booked for his seventh appearance on “The Daily Show” Tuesday as Jon Stewart is beginning his final three weeks as host of the show.
“Why Jon Stewart Might Be Irreplaceable”, wrote Hollywood trade paper Variety this week. Leading up to tonight’s finale, Stewart has talked about his departure and has even said that the world is a worse place since he started on the show. Comedy Central has kept numerous details under wraps, but it has noted that the hashtag #JonVoyage will be used for Stewart’s send-off. Comedy Central announced Tuesday, February 10, 2015, that Stewart will will leave “The Daily Show” later this year.
“I’ve been doing this too long”, he said.
Stewart, a standup comedian who last year released his first movie – the political drama “Rosewater” – has given few clues as to what he will do next. “Honestly, it’s breaking me”.
Through its juxtaposition of TV clips and flubs, “The Daily Show” also has mocked television news as much as politicians.
After tonight’s final episode, The Daily Show will take a hiatus until September, when new host Trevor Noah takes over.
Items that will be given to the museum include the desk that he sat at every night.
While most businesses would revel in the fact that Stewart’s run with The Daily Show is ending and he could no longer use the restaurant as the target of his jokes, Arby’s got the last laugh.
