Jon Stewart to visit Wilmore on ‘Nightly Show’ finale
Tuesday’s show was a little more subdued, presumably in part because of the massive amounts of wine sent to Wilmore by his fellow late-night host and ex-Daily Show comrade Samantha Bee. Wilmore then made sure to secure himself some drinks for his final episode by saying, “You better step up rest of late night, daddy needs some more juice, okay?” Jon Stewart is going to drop by, and I’m going to talk to him.
I was a fan of the show, which was in the mold of “The Daily Show” once hosted by Jon Stewart and lately by Trevor Noah.
Wilmore served as a recurring contributor on Stewart’s “Daily Show” before he landed the full-time gig as host of his own Comedy Central talk show early previous year.
Despite Stewart’s appearance on the finale, the 54-year-old Wilmore says it should be a low-key event.
The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore presents their final “Tampon Tuesday” segment, which discusses the recent comments from an Olympic swimmer in Rio.
In the end, Wilmore felt that the show successfully lived up to its goal, and that he would explore new late-night ventures and other comedy acts going forward. The Comedy Central show occasionally trained its sharp comic and satirical sights on US education, though not as often as I had wished.
