Jon Walters: Stoke City reject Norwich City’s £1.5m bid
Norwich have tried to lure the 31-year-old to Carrow Road, but Stoke have refused their approach, according to The Telegraph.
Norwich are likely to stick with the same starting line-up that won 3-1 at Sunderland last weekend, with Martin Olsson (shoulder) and Kyle Lafferty (knee) still sidelined.
“The players deserve all the plaudits that they’re getting at the moment, but the Sunderland game is done and we need to move on to the next one”, Neil added.
The club-record signing returned at the start of pre-season with another exit widely anticipated but, despite not being involved in either squad for the opening two league games, Neil has backed the Holland global to come good.
Mark Hughes: “Given the circumstances of the Spurs game we’re encouraged”.
Coincidentally, the two sides meet at Carrow Road tomorrow.
Walters has been a consistent goalscorer for Stoke.
Stoke city have rejected a bid of £1.5 million from Premier League new boys Norwich for Ireland worldwide Jon Walters.
Stoke have collected just three points from 18 available in their last six PL away games (D3 L3).
Alex Neil has won 18 of his 27 competitive games in charge of Norwich City; predecessor Neil Adams managed just 11 wins from 32 matches.
Walters has been an ever present for Stoke over the last five seasons in the Premier League since joining from Norwich’s East Anglia rivals Ipswich in 2010.
