Joni Mitchell rep says she had aneurysm, but recovering well
One of the rumors spreading is that the singer is in a coma and has been since falling ill.
Singer Joni Mitchell is expected to make a full recovery from the aneurysm she suffered in March, a friend has said.
Fellow musician and Mitchell’s ex- boyfriend David Crosby said in an interview released on Friday that she was no longer speaking and it was unclear when she would get better.
Days ago, David Crosby sat down with Huff Post Live and talked about his solo tour.
The artist is known for her distinctively rich contralto voice and open-tuned guitar and sang hits including Big Yellow Taxi, Woodstock and Both Sides, Now. Let’s hope the recovery comes sooner than later.
Sending continued positive energy to Joni Mitchell.
But her conservator Leslie has provided a more informed update on the Blue songwriter’s current health, sharing a statement on the matter via Joni’s official website on Sunday. “She is home, she is in care, she is recovering”, he said. So, how much she’s going to come back and when, I don’t know and I’m not going to guess. It will be a struggle just as anyone else struggles when they go through an ordeal this severe.
Mitchell mentioned that she also suffers from a very rare disease called Morgellons. Crosby has kept updated on the folk legend’s condition but has not actually spoken with her since the incident. He and Mitchell remained good friends.
Ms. Morris was appointed Mitchell’s legal conservator – a USA term for someone who will act as guardian and protector – last month when a judge decided the singer couldn’t make healthcare decisions for herself.
