Jonny Evans set for Old Trafford exit with
Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is reportedly on the verge of joining Everton for a fee of £8m.
It is understood the United boss is now looking to offload Evans, even though he is currently on tour with the Red Devils in the United States.
Everton are short of centre-backs after releasing veterans Sylvain Distinct and Antolin Alcaraz at the end of last season.
United officials have refused to comment on the speculation, but it is reported that a compromise has been reached between the two clubs regarding the player’s transfer.
Jonny Evans appears to be on his way out of Manchester United.
The 27 year old Northern Ireland worldwide has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford this summer after a poor season under Louis van Gaal, which often saw him booed by his own fans and lamented just for being in the starting line-up.
United have had a €40m offer for Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos rejected and the former Premier League champions are reluctant to raise it, sources say, believing it is a fair price for a 29-year-old, which could open the way for a move for Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi.
Evans made 14 top flight appearances last term, having missed large chunks of the se through injury and a six-game ban for spitting at Newcastle’s Papiss Cisse in April.
