Jordan Ayew: “I promise Aston Villa fans that things will change”
Villa remain rooted to the foot of the English Premier League table with five points from their opening 13 matches – a figure no side has ever recovered from in the division’s history.
Garde’s predecessor, Tim Sherwood, warned Grealish about his behaviour after the Tenerife incident telling him that he had to “knuckle down”, while Garde had already said he felt the winger was not playing at the level he should be.
“This season is hard but I believe that we can stay in the Premier League”.
“I thought that after the first goal we didn’t resist enough, lost too many challenges and didn’t create any chances at all for the first 35 minutes”.
“But there were mistakes”. Try Aston’s very own Black Sabbath instead as a summation of most Villa weekends this season. They have to keep supporting us and I promise them things will change.
Deeney clearly has mixed feelings for Villa and showed as much in his celebration.
Ighalo was also involved in Watford’s third in the 85th minute as his effort was deflected towards Deeney who headed home.
Alan Hutton’s own goal and Troy Deeney’s header put the visitors 3-1 up before Jordan Ayew grabbed a late second for Villa.
He said: ” It’s awesome the connection they had during the match.
“It’s incredible what they are doing different”.
“I don’t see any players fed up about the situation or what I am asking of them – not at all”. “You try to win always”.
But Watford’s fifth Premier League win of the season was marred by a serious-looking injury to Gomes, who was caught by defender Craig Cathcart as he dived to claim a low cross.
The Brazilian received treatment for a lengthy spell before being fitted with a neck brace and carried from the pitch on a stretcher. “It is not what is expected from my players”.
“The matter is pending and being investigated by our services and as a result, we are not in a position to comment on it any further nor to give an estimation as to the relevant time line”.
