Jordan Spieth: Tiger Woods still has plenty to offer
“I don’t know, so that’s been hard”. There’s really nothing I can look forward to, nothing I can build towards.
‘I walk and I walk and I walk some more, ‘ said the 14-time major victor. “I started to lose that with the other surgeries”. We’re able to pick up the phone, and we talk to each other all the time.
He said if his 79 wins on the PGA Tour and 14 majors is all he wins, “I’ve had a pretty good run”. “Hope to see you back on the course soon @tigerwoods”.
In musing about another elite athlete who announced his retirement recently, Woods may have been thinking about himself.
“I’m [angry] that he doesn’t have 28 majors”, Mediate told Golf Channel. Meanwhile, his peers – those who looked up to him, battled him, know him – shared their concern while also voicing hope that this is not the end. I can make him understand what it will take to get the stress off the body.
Once obsessed with chasing the legacy of Jack Nicklaus, Woods continues to sound resigned to the fact his title-winning days are behind him. And it would be remiss to not mention that some people simply resented his ethnicity.
He had a third microdiscectomy surgery last month – a procedure to remove bone around a pinched nerve to allow space for it to heal – and admitted he had no idea when he’ll swing a golf club again. He went all of five tournaments into 2001, with two T13 finishes his worst results, before going back-to-back-to-back at Bay Hill, The Players Championship, and Augusta. Last week, Spieth was a runner-up at the Australian Open.
Scott first played a practice round with Woods on the Sunday before Woods headed off to Pebble Beach for the 2000 U.S. Open, which he won by 15 shots.
Woods previously spent 683 weeks as the world’s top-ranked golfer, including 281 in succession, both of which are a record, but has has slipped to 400th as he attempts to recover from injury.
And, consider, all the above is a mere fraction of his accomplishments. “It took a lot out of us this year, and to imagine doing that, which is what obviously is the goal, it’s really special”, he added.
Instead, as long as Woods can’t play, he insists he wants to be “chill”, something he said while sitting in his self-named restaurant in Florida. I’m still shy of Jack’s.
“I’ve passed Jack on the all-time win list”. So I’ve had a pretty good career from my 20s and 30s. He’s still got a lot of good years ahead of him in my mind as long as he approaches it right, and I don’t know what that is. “I’m hoping that’s not it. I’m hoping I can get back out here and compete against these guys”. I would like to say something to him, just 45 minutes to an hour.
Kuchar was scheduled to play with Woods in a team event in Mexico in October which Woods attended but did not play. You blow out your ACL, which I did, and then I had a reconstruction, and, okay, back in nine months.
