Jose Mourinho: ‘I expected Pedro performance’
He enjoyed a near-perfect debut for the Blues, scoring a goal and providing a constant threat throughout their 3-2 victory at West Brom on Sunday.
Mourinho’s past experience with appealing red cards leads him to believe there would not be a favorable outcome if they should try to overturn Terry’s dismissal.
“I know who he is and what has happened in the past, but I liked what he said to me”, he explained.
“Of course I wanted to stay here at the club and retire here but I risked because it was what I wanted”.
He said: “I was really happy when I signed that contract”.
Cesar Azpilicueta has promised Chelsea fans that his global collegue Pedro will keep improving after his debut to remember.
Terry was substituted at half time when Chelsea lost 3-0 at Manchester City last week.
Much speculation surrounded where the 28-year-old would eventually end up, with Manchester United prominently linked with the former Barcelona star throughout the summer transfer window as they look to invest in their attacking options.
As two of the top seeded teams, Chelsea and Barcelona cannot be paired in Thursday’s draw for the group phase of the Champions League. “Now I have new challenges and the opportunity to continue to play“.
He continued: “I never imagined that one day I would be leaving this club and I felt a bit unusual pulling on my new shirt and at the same time happy with how it all turned out”. He is discovering the Premier League and I’m sure he will get better.
“I’m always ambitious but it was hard to have continuity here”, Pedro said (transcript Sky Sports).
“United, City and Chelsea (were interested but Chelsea) resolved the issue quickly and showed the most interest in me”.
“Four points in three matches is not enough”.
“I just hope I don’t have to face Barca or step out at the Nou Camp wearing another jersey”.
Pedro claimed Manchester United and City were both keen on him but Jose Moreno convinced him to choose Chelsea.
