Jose Mourinho lauds “phenomenal” Man United despite late Arsenal equaliser

Jose Mourinho took another shot at his rival Arsene Wenger after Arsenal snatched a 1-1 draw against Manchester United, saying: “Finally I lost to Arsene”.

“Against Arsenal we played yet another game where I’ve felt that we did everything, or nearly everything, to win and two points slipped away”, he wrote.

It was the Gunners’ only attempt on target and meant United were held to a third straight league draw on home turf for the first time since 1992.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Mourinho said: “Arsenal was the game today, a big team, and we dominated so easily”.

After three consecutive wins to start the season, United have now won just two of their past nine, but Jones says the team must remain calm.

“We have a good understanding”.

“He, in 14 years, failed to build a team to be champion”. If we have six points more, we are top four and close to the top of the league.

“But it is a lot sort of easier to deal with a result like that when you know you’ve played well, you’ve done everything you can and you deserve to win”.
