Jose Mourinho: Manchester United Manager Taunts Rivals Over Paul Pogba Deal
New Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, has set his sights on winning the Ballon d’Or having completed a world-record move to Old Trafford. Pogba left the English team back in 2012 and played for the Italian side Juventus FC where he won 4 titles in the Italian Serie A.
“He’s a very young player, an unbelievable midfield player with such physicality but, at the same time, such agility, co-ordination, skill”, Mourinho said. “So I was thinking ‘why not?’ I’m sure he can make me improve and make me a better player and a better person”. So if he needs protection, I am here to protect. He has said he was destined to return to Manchester United. But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford.
“That might be the role he plays, but either way I’m looking forward to seeing him”.
Pogba will wear the number six shirt at United, which has been previously worn by club legends like Gary Pallister, Jaap Stam, Laurent Blanc, Rio Ferdinand, and Wes Brown. “And, personally, one of my dreams is to win the Ballon d’Or”, he told MUTV.
“There’s a big expectation on him with the biggest ever transfer fee, but I think he’s a pretty confident lad that can handle that”.
The central midfielder is seen as the best player in his position in his generation, but one of his Premier League predecessors would have been worth just as much, former opponent Danny Higginbotham has stated.
“I don’t know if it was a numbers thing, to get bodies in at a certain time”, he said.
“But, in September, the Capital One Cup starts, the Europa League starts, we start playing three matches a week and then everybody is involved and the squad is good”.
Mourinho responded to both Wenger and Klopp by saying their comments were “not ethical”, insisting he would never speak about another club or player.
