Jose Mourinho says a Leicester title triumph would be ‘magnificent’
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho winks while waiting for the start of the Champions League group G soccer match between Chelsea and FC Porto at Stamford Bridge stadium in London, Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015.
“For Chelsea to move forward, you’ve got to stick with the manager and let him do what he does best”.
“He is top scorer and it is normal that big clubs want him. I don’t think anyone can dispute his record and I’m sure he’ll be relishing turning it around”. “It is the same players and coach that we had past year”.
“I haven’t heard my players talking about where we can finish and what is possible”.
As he prepares to face the Premier League’s surprise packages tomorrow the Chelsea boss went as wild over Ranieri’s Foxes as he ever does about opponents.
Claudio Ranieri’s men are 17 points ahead of Chelsea.
“This season it is more hard to say this player is being magnificent”.
“I know the distance between them and Manchester United, City, Arsenal is two, three, four points but they are the ones that deserve all this respect and all these compliments”.
“Independent of the Bournemouth defeat, I think in the last couple of months everyone is improving, the team is improving”.
While Manchester United fans have been critical of Louis van Gaal’s slow build-up play and boring style of football this season, they put up with it as long as the results were going their way. It is hallowed company for the striker who was playing in the fifth division of English football 4 years ago.
Over the first 15 games of the season, Claudio Ranieri’s team have been the most consistent side in the top flight, losing just once and scoring more goals than anyone else in the process.
“Me and the team is the pinnacle of the iceberg but behind that is very good staff”, beams Ranieri.
“When I called him to wish him the best, I think in that moment we started a different relationship, but I always had respect for the man”.
Vardy’s tally is only three fewer than struggling champions Chelsea, who have won just four games this season and lie a mere two points above the relegation zone.
“We were a bit more in contact, a bit closer”.
Mourinho reckons that Leicester will make the top six this season as a minimum and therefore qualify for the Europa League.
