Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gets Some Roast With His Hasty Pudding
Well, I’m not sure about how classic Hollywood it is going to be, but it is apparent Tatum has agreed with the thought process since he is teaming with his one-time Manic co-star (from 15 years ago!), Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The project will be produced by Marc Platt, who is responsible for bringing the smash hit Wicked to Broadway.
The 34-year-old has been dying to do a movie musical with Channing Tatum, and it looks like it’s actually going to happen this time!
Gordon-Levitt performed a show-stopping number in (500) Days of Summer and has sang live on hitRECord performances. Little is known about the project so far, but THR writes that it will be “an R-rated musical comedy featuring two pilots on a misadventure”. What we do know is that Michael Bacall is attached to write the screenplay, and given the inherent likeability of its two leading stars, expect the studio to move quickly to fast-track the film into production.
The two actors first worked together in Havoc, a 2005 Anne Hathaway thriller, and also teamed up for Paramount’s 2008 Iraq War drama Stop-Loss. Since then, the latter has honed his dancing and indeed singing abilities across both Magic Mikes films and the recently released Hail, Caesar! Gordon-Levitt is repped by WME and Jackoway Tyerman.
