Josh Norman rips Roger Goodell, says Redskins name is not offensive
“They kind of shunned me”, Norman said.
Honestly, no one knew what to expect from Josh Norman, when the Redskins signed the former Carolina Panthers cornerback. “He was supposed to be an all-world guy, and I shut him down”. Something tells me Bradford won’t be willing to engage Norman quite like OBJ has in the past. It’s like, when are you ever going to grow up? People from around the league were coming up to me afterward and saying, “He does that crap all the time”. You’ll remember the two had an eventful confrontation when Beckham’s New York Giants hosted the Panthers last December. And he brought it on himself He’s skilled and talented. And Norman apparently forgot about his defensive holding penalty that helped Broncos get their only offensive touchdown of the game.
The move ended up working out for Norman, as he became the highest paid cornerback in the National Football League by signing a five-year, $75 million contract with Washington. So it wasn’t a surprise to see Norman continue it while speaking with ESPN The Mag, especially since OBJ had some things to say about Norman during an interview with GQ this summer.
It is pretty clear the Redskins have chose to give Norman the green light to say whatever he wants to, even if it ends up being bulletin board material for a divisional rival.
The Josh Norman and Odell Beckham Jr. beef has only grown bigger now that the cornerback has moved to the NFC East.
While it’s entirely reasonable that there were times the Panthers wanted Norman to talk less, the idea that they took money out of his pocket (before pulling the $13.95 million tag) is a pretty bold allegation. But he’s never been through any adversity in his l1fe.
“Nah, man. I’m the best cornerback on Earth”. If he is allowed to talk as much as he wants, he will be able to get into his opponent’s heads.
