Joy Behar Returns to ‘The View’
Rounding out the group will be returning moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who joined in Season 11, and Raven-Symone, who was added in Season 18.
“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in”, said Behar.
The View, which is now overseen by ABC News, returns September 8 with the mostly new cast and five live shows each week (Friday’s episodes had been pre-taped ). “Plus, [my husband] Steve was getting exhausted of applauding every time I gave my opinion”.
Shepherd is leading a group of contributors that includes Stacey London, Top Chef host Padman Lakshmi, Molly Sims, GOP strategist Ana Navarro, announced in this morning’s announcement finalizing the stable of contributors to the daytime talker that’s been flopping about creatively and ratings-wise the past couple seasons. “I’m happy to be back home”. The Emmy victor will co-host season 19, along with new co-hosts Paula Faris and Candace Cameron Bure.
Behar was an original cohost, appearing for the show’s first 16 seasons.
“They wouldn’t really negotiate well enough for me, and so I said, ‘No, I’m not coming to you, ‘” Behar said last month. What I love about The View is that no topic is off the table and every viewer can feel like they have a voice on the show.
Cameron Bure is an actress, producer, New York Times’ bestselling author and inspirational speaker.
New co-host Candace, 39, is best-known for playing DJ Tanner on the 1990s sitcom Full House – and in the upcoming Netflix reboot of the comedy, Fuller House. And after Cameron-Bure’s recent debate about a lesbian wedding cake, it seems she will have no problem in that department.
“I am thrilled to be joining “The View” as a regular co-host this fall”, she said.
