JP: Hot and dry weekend ahead
Wednesday will be the coolest day of the week, with the high temperature reaching only the upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies, National Weather Service meteorologist Jon Hitchcock also noted there is a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, though winds – except during thunderstorms – will not be strong. The greatest chance for severe storms in eastern South Dakota and southwest Minnesota is late Sunday into Sunday evening, but they will be isolated.

Tonight: Chances of showers increase to 50 percent, the low temperature will be 58.
Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers will linger for Monday night with a low temperature of 68 degrees.
SATURDAY: Sunny, with a high near 84. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. East wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Tuesday’s high expected to be 71.
