JUD Chief to file case against upcoming movie ‘Phantom’
Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief and alleged Mumbai attack mastermind Hafeez Saeed has filed a plea in a court here, seeking a ban on the release of Bollywood movie Phantom in Pakistan.
“The film speaks the truth the 2008 Mumbai assault and worldwide terrorism ensnaring the JuD. Unsanitary purposeful publicity has been done in the film against Pakistan under subject of the world terrorism”, he charged. The petitioner says the film contains anti-Pakistan and anti-JuD sentiments. Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie also features a scene in which Saif Ali Khan, who plays an Indian agent determined to take out Pakistani terrorist Hafiz Saeed. He said courts in Pakistan had rejected the Indian government’s claims about JuD’s involvement in the Mumbai attacks.
“I pray to the court to ban the exhibition of Phantom in Pakistan for its anti-Pakistan content”, Saeed added. It also shows visuals of main perpetrators of 26/11- David Headley, Sajid Mir, Hafiz Saeed and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. Lahore High Court’s Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan settled 10 August as the date for listening to the request. The action moves to some suits discussing why India only severes its cricketing ties with Pakistan after a terror attack.
“Apparently the film is about the 2008 Mumbai attacks and global terrorism”.
India’s most wanted Jamat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed who orchestrated 26/11 attacks seems in trouble with the release of Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer “Phantom”.
