Judd Apatow’s Netflix Comedy Series ‘Love’ To Drop in February
The half-hour comedy stars Community’s Gillian Jacobs and Super Fun Night’s Paul Rust as Mickey and Gus, who attempt to navigate love in Los Angeles.
Netflix announced the release date for filmmaker Judd Apatow’s new comedy series, Love, via a short video that doesn’t include any actual scenes from the series.
Rust (“I Love You, Beth Cooper”) and Lesley Arfin (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “Girls”) co-wrote the pilot episode with Apatow, and the trio executive produced the series along with Brent Forrester and Dean Holland. Is this an ad for a show Judd Apatow produced or a speedy scroll through Facebook on Universal Hangover Day? Thus, in a fashion we’ve come to expect from Apatow’s films and television projects, expect the optimistic, glowy Vaseline lens veneer of typical romcom-type situation to be peeled back, exposing its hilariously unaesthetic idiosyncrasies.
According to the initial (sadly footage-less) teaser, Love will premiere the entirety of its first season on Friday, February 19.
Will you be falling for “Love” when it makes its post-Valentine’s debut, or do you need to see more before making that kind of commitment?
Netflix picked up the show in September of 2014. It’ll be followed by an extended 12-episode series in 2017.
