Judge Orders Kelly Rutherford to Return Kids to Father in Monaco

The two children left with their paternal grandmother and headed to the airport. Since 2012 her children Hermes and Helena have lived in Monaco with their father, forcing Kelly to travel thousands of miles to visit them each month.

Kelly released a statement at the weekend, citing “confusing” court proceedings for keeping the children in the US.

The kids have been living in Europe since 2012. But the trans-Atlantic legal battle is not over. Rutherford also owed $350,000 worth of back taxes, and in all her debts totaled more than $2 million. I’m a mother first, and from the beginning, I said I would fight for my children.

The lawyer’s statement added: “He is very concerned about the traumatic impact that Kelly’s behaviour will have on the children. Rutherford will be learning this the hard way”.

A California official granted Rutherford sole custody in May, but that decision was subsequently reversed after yet another judge insisted the state lawmakers had no authority to rule on the case.

Rutherford stands by her previous statement and has yet to issue a new one. Now the lawyer of her ex-husband, German businessman Daniel Giersch, is accusing her of criminal acts.

Hollywood actress Kelly Rutherford is refusing to send her children back to their father in Monaco as per a court-ordered agreement.

A hearing regarding custody is scheduled for September 3 in Monaco. Giersch alleges that Kelly’s failure to return the children amounts to Rutherford kidnapping them.

On Tuesday, Rutherford was supposed to bring the kids to court.

Then she kicked all the reporters out of the courtroom, dismissing arguments that the much-publicized case should remain open because it was “in the best interests of the children” to close it. Because of this, Rutherford has decided to make up her own mind.
