Judge recognises fellow holidaymaker in the dock
But this time round, she is filmed recognising someone from her more recent past – a passenger from a Caribbean cruise she had just been on.
“What were you on?”
“You had a nice cruise?” the Miami-Dade County judge asked an initially confused Alon Glenn during his extradition hearing on a fraud charge from Georgia, Local10 reported.
“You were on a cruise this weekend that just passed?”
Suspect: “You didn’t see me dancing?” “I was upstairs in the shade”, Glazer explained.
The man was picked up at PortMiami on an out-of-state warrant from February.
She then said: “It was a fun time huh?” and he responded with “Yes, but this is mad”.
“Sometimes it happens that way”, said Glazer.
Glazer seemed to side with Glenn, saying that if he had wanted to flee, he could have done so in the ports of call visited by the ship.
“That’s what I don’t understand ’cause, ma’am, I had a case in Georgia where I was released on the third”, the man said.
The south Florida judge who made national news after recognizing one of her former classmates during a bond hearing earlier this month had yet another surprise reunion on Monday.
“What were you on the Breeze?” a smiling Glazer asked Glenn, after realizing he’d been arrested at the port.
“Did you go to Nautilus for middle school?”
Earlier this month burglary suspect Arthur Booth broke down in tears when he realised the judge setting his bail – Mindy Glazer – was a classmate he used to play football with. “I’m so sorry to see you here”.
“I always wondered what happened to you”.
Again, Booth, could only reply, “Oh, my goodness!” as he wept.
Glenn hoped Glazer got a glimpse of his dance moves.
