Julianne Hough and National Hockey League player Brooks Laich engaged

Julianne Hough has got engaged to Brooks Laich.

Hough is an actress and after winning the “Dancing With the Stars” competition twice, she was asked to judge the same show which she accepted.

Julianne Hough’s engagement may have surprised fans, but it didn’t surprise her brother.

And in a blog post on her official website, Julianne admitted she is still reeling after her 32-year-old spouse to be popped the question. “This is certainly one of the most exciting times in my life, and I am so happy to share it with you all!” Laich shared the same photo and caption, showing that the two couldn’t be happier.

The “Safe Haven” star broke the news on Instagram, where alongside a photograph of herself staring at her ring while wrapping her arms and legs around Brooks on a balcony overlooking a lake, she wrote: “We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement”.

Hough and the Washington Capitals athlete began dating in December 2013 after mutual friend Teddy Sears introduced them.

‘It works out well, they’re having fun, ‘ a source told UsWeekly.

“We love going on day dates or staying in”, she gushed to Women’s Health magazine previously.

This will be the first marriage for both Hough and her hockey player fiancé. He is now seeing Hilary Cruz. She was reportedly engaged in 2007 to fellow dancer Zach Wilson before dating country singer Chuck Wicks from August. 2008 to November. 2009 and then, more famously, Ryan Seacrest from April 2010 to March 2013.
