Junior Galette Destroys Former Coaches And Teammates In Twitter Rant
Shortly after Junior Galette was cut by the Saints, someone took to Twitter and blasted the team, some players and coaches.
Galette is reportedly being released by the Saints and Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate reports that Galette has passed a physical, which means he can officially be released by the team. The feeling’s mutual; on Saturday Galette hopped on Twitter to air his grievances and make some pretty serious accusations.
The beach video came to light last month, and the Saints forwarded it to the NFL.
The legal issues weren’t the only reasons the team decided to part ways with Galette, according to The Times-Picayune, which reported that his attitude and behavior changed for the worse after he signed his contract.
According to the Times-Picayune, Galette frequently caused problems in the Saints’ locker room. Although he was named one of the team’s captains, last year during a preseason game he allegedly got in a fist-fight with teammate Brandon Deaderick.
“He stayed focused long enough to get paid”, a former teammate said, “then the real Junior came out”. He was also arrested in January on a separate domestic violence charge, but all the charges were eventually dismissed. By waiting until after June 1, the Saints can spread out the cap hit over the next two years – $5.45 million this year and a whopping $12.1 million next year. He tallied 10 sacks last season.
Then, his Twitter rant on his girlfriend’s account showed why the Saints may have made the correct call.
The tweets have since been deleted, but Canal Street Chronicle has screenshots of the entire episode, and a reddit user PaySayJack compiled a summary of the diatribe, which includes allegations about everything from drug use to infidelity to coaching tactics.
