Jurgen Klopp “felt pretty alone” after Liverpool fans left their game early
Alan Pardew’s side earned their third consecutive victory over the Reds thanks to goals in either half from Yannick Bolasie and – in the 82nd minute – lifelong Liverpool fan Scott Dann.
Klopp has been in charge for 6 games, remaining undefeated up until the disappointing loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday. I’ve played in the Europa League and I thought Liverpool might be a bit sleepy.
“We have to learn that we decide how strong, tired, awake we are”.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes fans will continue to stream for an early exit at Anfield until the team give them something to stay for.
“But we are responsible that nobody can leave the stadium a minute before the last whistle because everything can happen”. We let them back in the game, but wanted to show what we were capable of.
Dann said: “It was great to get the goal and great to get the three points, and the performance we put in as a team as top drawer”.
Liverpool commanded most of the possession and created more chances compared to Crystal Palace who played on the counter attack.
“Personally, I’m starting to feel like myself again, after I had a slow start this season, so I’m looking forward to that continuing”, he added. We have to feel this, we have to keep this, and then we will know why we don’t want this anymore.
After a period of dominance in the game Liverpool were able to hit back. “We were better team, but for the first 15 minutes we were not on the pitch”. Fans jumping ship before the game ends is another of my pet peeves, and it always irritates me whenever I go to a football match.
With a win to go into the worldwide break now and the boost that will be given more recent results, the gaffer went on to say that points hadn’t matched our efforts recently so that made him even more delighted with the win.
“I think he’s been underestimated throughout his career really”.
“I think we have managed the previous two well”.
