Jurgen Klopp’s Response To A Potential Reunion With Dortmund
Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the possibility of Liverpool signing a striker during the January transfer window.
“If your boss thinks you’re not in the best day in your life and thinks, ‘Maybe I’ll replace him, ‘ that is not how the world should run”.
“It was not the football we all know, our best football, but we also know that although it’s an outdoor sport, frozen ground is for other sports usually”. He said, “Because we weren’t good enough, the linesman thought ‘you don’t make world-class goals if you play this s***’ so (you don’t get the goal)”. I’d give the advice to stay cool and see what happens.
“If we need something we will do it and not talk about it before”, Klopp told The Daily Mail. We also have Ingsy, but he’s not available at the moment.
“There are no more issues with the knee and everything is okay, now he has to work to be a real option for us”.
“That’s what I thought in the summer when I was not here, that’s what I thought in October when I came here, now we have December – my mind didn’t change every two days”. “I don’t feel we have to look at other people just because they cost £20 million”.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes the Europa League will be taken more seriously when the knockout phase begins in the new year because of the quality of teams left in the competition. “We know Liverpool are very offensive and had a couple of risky situations but we did not have to rely on our goalkeeper”.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson hailed Brad Smith’s “outstanding” performance at left-back and reflected on his pleasure at returning to the starting line-up after a goalless draw in Sion. That’s what he needs now, ‘ said Klopp.
The former Manchester City and Chelsea player missed most of last season with thigh and calf injuries and then underwent a hip operation in May that kept him out of action for four months.
While Henderson is closing in on full fitness, the same can’t be said of his team-mate Daniel Sturridge, who is set for another spell on the sidelines after enduring an injury setback.
