Just what is Arya up to, exactly?
It’s a sad state of affairs for House Stark but it might not necessarily be the truth. She turned to him for advice at the end of “Beyond the Wall”, but it’s possible that the Stark sisters are actually playing him.
Game of Thrones hasn’t been great for the Stark sisters this season. Obviously, Arya is good at this game and Sansa isn’t. It isn’t an act. This is Arya. She doesn’t have compassion.
Arya had so much potential for Season 7. But why was Sansa so unkind to Brienne of Tarth who steadfastly spent an entire season waiting for her in the snow watching for a candle in a window?
Foreshadowing: We have quotes from as far back as S6 suggesting that Arya will protect Sansa.”No one can protect me”. Sansa was no longer her sister, but a woman who would stop at nothing to be queen in Arya’s eyes.
Sansa and Arya don’t know each other. Arya’s cryptic words could be a message to Sansa that she’s been observing her since she arrived back at Winterfell. Tyrion, of course, killed Tywin Lannister, the man who Jamie never got another chance to impress after the loss of his hand; Jamie continues to work alongside Cersei Lannister despite her opposition to Tyrion’s faction and her desire to see Tyrion killed.
The courtyard confrontation isn’t even the most revealing aspect of Arya’s supposed murderous plot. Anything that makes Arya the hero and Littlefinger the scrub is A-plus.
Instead of taking Sansa’s face she handed her Valyrian steel dagger to her sister before storming off. In return, Sansa is scared of the sadistic, sociopathic murderer Arya has transformed into, unsure of what will set her off. It’s easy to interpret everything Arya says from that point forward as a lie. Arya tells Sansa she wonders what it would be like to wear her face and her pretty dresses, to be Lady of Winterfell – we are beaten over the head since S1 that Arya HAS NEVER WANTED ANY OF THESE THINGS. But as we know this will (semingly) not be a permanent answer either. Depending on how the season plays out, Christian Hackenberg could even see time in games so the Jets can analyze the position before next year’s draft. Arya is define by her fiercely independent streak. Right now, she’s in danger of blowing it because she doesn’t want to consider that what her sister is saying is true. Sophie Turner is one of the few remaining cast members from the beginning of Game of Thrones.
But, having survived the skirmish with the Army of the Dead in “Beyond the Wall,”, he’s now been tasked with bringing a wight in a bag to King’s Landing to help Jon prove to everyone that the Army of the Dead is a real threat in the finale. To reach her next level, Sansa must kill Petyr Baelish. The Three-eyed Raven did say the “ink is dry” on the past despite the past not being as concrete as we think, so that comment would fit this theory, but it would also feel like a letdown since it means no one had any freewill in the story. The sisters clashed repeatedly over their loyalties, and in a final confrontation, Arya seemed to be threatening Sansa with a knife.
Sansa is still held back by the machinations of Littlefinger and the influence he has amounted in the North. The note praises the Lannisters and claims her father, Ned Stark, tried to steal the Iron Throne from King Joffrey.
